Is my data private with QuietCam?

Yes. QuietCam stores all recordings locally on your iPhone and does not collect analytics, run ads, or require an account. Your media never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.

Privacy is a core design principle of QuietCam, not an afterthought. When you capture a photo, record video, or save audio, the file is written directly to your device's local storage inside the app's private gallery. There is no cloud backup, no server upload, and no user account that ties your recordings to an identity. QuietCam does not have access to your media, and neither does any third-party analytics or advertising network.

Because QuietCam operates entirely on-device, you remain in full control of what happens to your recordings. By default, captured media stays inside QuietCam's private gallery and is kept separate from your Camera Roll. This means your personal photos and QuietCam recordings do not get mixed together unless you explicitly choose to export an item. You can review, delete, or share files on your own terms using the in-app gallery or the iOS share sheet.

QuietCam's privacy policy confirms that the app does not collect personal data, usage analytics, or device identifiers for tracking purposes. The only external data exchange related to QuietCam is handled by Apple through the App Store when you download the app or manage a PRO subscription. Apple's purchase records are governed by Apple's privacy policies and are not linked to your QuietCam recordings.

It is worth noting that iOS itself enforces certain system-level behaviors that QuietCam cannot override. When the camera is active, Apple's green or orange privacy indicator appears in the status bar or Dynamic Island. This is an Apple requirement designed to protect users across all apps, and it applies to QuietCam the same way it applies to the built-in Camera app. QuietCam hides its own interface, but it cannot hide Apple's system indicator.

If you want to verify QuietCam's privacy practices yourself, you can review the official privacy policy at https://sites.google.com/view/quietcam-pp. You can also check your iPhone's Settings under Privacy & Security to see that QuietCam requests only the permissions it needs — camera, microphone, and photo library access for optional export — and nothing more.
