About QuietCam
QuietCam is a black screen camera for iPhone and Android built around a simple idea: you should be able to record what matters without a glowing screen, cluttered photo library, or hidden data collection.
Why we built it
The default phone camera keeps a bright viewfinder lit the entire time it records. That drains the battery, distracts people nearby, and makes long-form capture — lectures, meetings, interviews, personal notes — awkward. QuietCam was created to solve exactly that: capture photos, video, and audio while the display stays dark, and keep every file private on your device — on both iOS and Android.
Who makes QuietCam
QuietCam is designed and developed by Pawel Chmiel, an independent mobile developer who has shipped camera and photo apps on the App Store and Google Play. QuietCam is actively maintained, with the developer personally responding to reviews and shipping regular updates — most recently version 1.2.1 on iOS.
