Can I export recordings to my Camera Roll?

Yes. QuietCam saves recordings to a private in-app gallery by default, but you can export any item to your Camera Roll or share it through the iOS share sheet whenever you choose.

QuietCam's default behavior is to keep your recordings inside the app's private gallery rather than automatically saving them to your Camera Roll. This separation is intentional: it prevents your discreet or work-related recordings from appearing alongside personal photos in your main library, and it gives you a dedicated space to review footage before deciding what to keep, delete, or share.

When you are ready to move a recording out of QuietCam, exporting is straightforward. Open the private gallery, select the photo, video, or audio file you want to export, and use the share or export option. You can save the file directly to your Camera Roll, send it through Messages or Mail, or save it to a folder in the Files app. QuietCam will request photo library access the first time you attempt an export, which is the standard iOS permission required to write media to your Camera Roll.

Exporting is always a deliberate action — QuietCam never silently copies your recordings to other locations. If you prefer to keep everything inside the app, you can use QuietCam exclusively as a standalone media library without ever exporting a single file. Many users take this approach for sensitive recordings such as meeting notes, lecture captures, or personal journal entries.

Deleting a file from QuietCam's gallery removes it from the app but does not affect copies you have already exported to your Camera Roll or Files app. If you export a video and later delete the original from QuietCam, the exported copy remains wherever you saved it. This gives you flexibility to manage storage in both locations independently.
